Founded
in 1983 in Kuwait, the Italian Development Group has
rapidly developed thanks to its work with the local
entrepreneurs in Kuwait.
Interior design, furnishings, contracts and construction
materials were our first important projects.
We
can add to the list other projects such as private
housing and housing projects for the city of Kuwait:
building supplies, bathroom fixtures and
accessories, ceramics, furnishings, marble and granite;
indeed in 1996 we exported approximately 400
containers of materials to Kuwait. |
 |
De Lilla Ezio is the proprietor
and president of IDG and he began his career in 1979 at
the Benghazi (Libya) building site for the construction
projects of Palestinian Road, Benina Road etc…
A year later he was hired by
the Società Ansaldo Impianti nucleari (nuclear plants)
for the 4+1 Desalination project at the Doha east
electrical plant in Kuwait as assistant for civil
building projects. |
|
From
1980 to 1983 Mr. De Lilla distinguished himself as a
well-prepared businessman and for his attention to
detail and so in 1982, at the end of the first project,
he became manager of the experimental nuclear
desalination project in Doha west.
After the completion of this project, Mr De Lilla
founded the Italian Development Group in Kuwait where
his experience, know-how, commitment and public
relations skills all served him well for his future
undertakings.
Its
sense of creativity and passion and its ability to bring
projects to completion were fundamental for the Group in
its search and relationship with partners that has
prestigious and large-scale projects and that needed
serious and able subcontractors.
And so IDG rapidly gained a reputation as a
hard-working and ready participant. |
 |
 |
|
Many
more projects followed including banks, villas,
government offices and IDG was in demand constantly.
In 1987 a prominent Italian company that works with
marble and granite asked IDG to undertake a year-long
project to redo the external granite facade of a few
buildings in the centre of London.
Other
great opportunities and contracts allowed IDG in 1993 to
become the Italian Development and De Lilla Group,
merging with other Italian companies in order to become
competitive in terms of price, completion dates and the
availability of exclusive Italian products from Italian
artisans.
We
could also say that besides our ability to choose the
right products, our success is also due to our creative
staff’s ability to pick and choose and modify;
they have always created truly unique and
exclusive projects by using and developing the staff’s
architectural designs which feature that sought out
Italian character and charm.
Our
mater stone masons use local artisans but they also have
two important responsibilities:
carrying out the project in a careful and
detailed manner and teaching local artisans patiently so
that they execute instructions perfectly.
Our
international experience and having learned from
different cultures have only served to augment ID +
DG’s imagination; mixing different art forms have rendered each project unique
so that each project is very different from the
preceding one and thus making our projects difficult to
emulate.
Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Britain, Egypt and
India are all part of our proud portfolio.
Our clients, past, present and future are always welcome
to contact us for any project be it difficult, simple
and on whatever budget.
We would like to dedicate this presentation to Ezio De
Lilla’s parents from whom he has inherited his
cordiality and ability
to adapt to any situation; we especially remember
his father who was decorated during the war and
who fought valiantly in Ethiopia and Somalia , Air
Marshal De Lilla Antonio of the Italian Air Force.
His
mother Zaira Compagnone passed on her sense of
simplicity and excellent taste to her son.
The
company’s growth and development was similarly
supported and lovingly followed
by Mrs Magda De Lilla to whom we thank for her
efforts which are in every way superior to our own. |
